What does a place want to be?
Genuine places grow honestly out of their resources and purpose. This kind of place resonates most strongly with me, and is the kind I care about understanding. Whether subconsciously enjoying natural beauty, or through intentional analysis, I think we all find ourselves drawn to this feeling. Although we have various ways of seeing it, this feeling is nothing new, and nothing unique to me or here.
I've developed my lens for understanding genuine places growing up in Vermont, a place that values and markets itself on representing transparent process, local goods, and homemade care. I hope to find, and share, in my travels those places and people that manifest this sense of Vermont authenticity, and along the way, further develop my own.
